Rib flare

At last I can work out what is wrong with me and why I am in so much pain!

For a few weeks I have been suffering with horrible sore ribs - to the point that I think they are cracking. Turns out, after a visit to the midwife, that I have rib flare.

The pain is made worse by sitting and so practicing good posture is seem as being important. Indeed it was suggested I get a birthing ball and sit on that when in pain - not so easy when you are at work but certainly worth a try.

The pain is thought to be more common on the right side and at times I feel that I should have one rib sticking out, having been snapped.

It is now at the point that I can not sleep at night. At first it takes hours to get comfy and then when I do get to sleep I wake up about an hour later in a lot of pain.

Paracetamol is worthless when trying to ease the pain and as that is about all you can take for pain it is really just a case of grinning and baring it. Hopefully it will pass but expect it will be here until due day.

At least now I know what is is tho!
