Knitting a raccoon for a little monster

Knitting for a baby looks isn't so easy...

Knitting is a hobby that I enjoy, but sadly is does not come easily to me.

I love the idea of being able to make my baby some unique clothing and I can, only my knits are unique in a bad way, not a good way.

One project I have been working on for months now has finally been finished and thankfully just in time - it fits but it won't for long.

I had only briefly knitted a pattern with a picture on it once before (a fox cushion) but this was so much harder. It used a lot of different colour changes of wool, instructions I couldn't get right (I always ended up with more stitches at the end of a decrease than I should) and sewing it together was a a pain.

I do feel this was better than my first knitted jumper!

I love seeing babies in home made jumpers and thankfully my mum is much better, and faster, at knitting than I am so Molly has had a good stream of knitted cardigans to keep us going.

I have only ever really taken part in knitting properly since I fell pregnant, but I do find that it is relaxing. I love flicking through knitting magazines and books deciding on what project I want to tackle next. The only problem is that I get bored half way through a project and it ends up sitting unfinished for ages until I get my knitting mojo again. Thankfully winter is a great time to pick up my knitting needles and get projects finished.

Now it is time for me to think of my next project.

What are you knitting at the moment? I would love to see your latest creations.
