Bottle snowmen from formula bottles

So cute and done in minutes.

Normally I have not been someone to do much in the way of Christmas decorations beyond putting up the Christmas tree but this year, with M being that bit more aware, I have decided to do a few more things around the house.

I thought of making snowmen bottles using Coke and Irn-Bru bottles but could not find any of my acrylic paints and M's poster paints did not work.  At first it looked great but by the time I came down the next morning the paint had dripped to the bottom.

So when I went out to my parents for the day I had to buy a few small bottles of formula my mum pointed out that I didn't need paint to make snowmen as I could just use the formula bottles that were already why. Perfect.

  • Formula bottle (or plastic bottle and paint)
  • Sharpie pens
  • Wool/Scratch mitten

  • If using paint put inside bottle and swirl it around to coat, turn upside down to dry. If using formula remove lid and label and discard.
  • Draw on eyes, nose, mouth and buttons with Sharpie pens.
  • Knit a small hat using these instructions from Innocent Smoothies. Or use a scratch mitten as a hat if you don't want to knit a hat.
  • Knit a scarf - Cast on 4 stitches and knit a row, purl a row until you reach desired length. Cast off.

  1. Aww, these are so sweet! Shame the coke bottle didn't work, but the formula ones look great anyway! I love the little knitted hat and scarf, a great little toy decoration for children to play with too. Thanks so much for linking up to #HowtoSunday :) x
