Valentine's day crafts

Made with love

With Valentines day coming I have been working out what arts and crafts I can do with her that we can then reuse in her bedroom. For this reason I decided to try salt dough hearts which I could make into a garland.

I love that M is older now and so can help with adding the ingredients, cutting the dough as well as painting the hearts at the end.

Salt Dough

I have made things with salt dough in the past so know that it works well so I decided to work with that at first.

2 cups plain flour

1 salt

1 cup water

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until you have a dough. We then rolled the dough to the desired thickness (probably about half a centimetre) before cutting hearts out of the dough using cookie cutters.

Poke holes into both tops of the hearts.

Once I had finished I put them in the oven for 3 hours at 100 degrees before leaving to cool and painting.

Once paint is dry I will string the hearts together to make a pretty, Molly made, decoration for her bedroom!
