Our summer bucket list

Enjoying the great outdoors whatever the weather

It's that time of year again, when the sun starts to make an appearance, and everyone starts to head outdoors. I love it. The clocks go forward. The days are lighter. It starts to warm up a bit.

This year will be the first summer as a family of four and I have so many things on our bucket list!
  1. Go camping (we took M when she was 16 weeks but that was in summer and so we are still waiting for it to warm up to take F).
  2. Go abroad (yay this one excited me a lot as we are going to Corfu in September).
  3. Grow our own fruit and vegetables (we have started on this).
  4. Go on bike rides in the countryside.
  5. Go to Stonehaven outdoor swimming pool.
  6. Go for lots of country walks with the dogs.
  7. Visit the Falkirk wheel.
  8. Go to the zoo.
  9. Spend time at the beach.
  10. Go to the Deep Sea World.
  11. Visit The Kelpies and Helix Park.
  12. Look for the Loch Ness Monster.
  13. Go to the Safari Park.
  14. Pick berries and make ice-cream with them.
  15. Go on a boat trip.
  16. Feed the ducks.
  17. Go for picnics in the wild.
  18. Play with bubbles.
  19. Go on a train journey.
  20. Explore the local area more.
  21. Have fun in a paddling pool in the garden.
  22. Visit the local public paddling pool.
  23. Have a BBQ at the beach.
  24. Find and attend local events.
  25. Go to an airport and watch planes.
This is just some. I thought we would have had potty train M on that but she has decided to do that early and is now dry day and night (after only a couple of days - we are so lucky). That said she may have a relapse and we might need to try again?

Even when the weather is bad we will not let that put us off. We will dance in the rain, jump in puddles and hopefully (but unlikely if F takes after M) we will see F's first steps and be teaching him how to walk.

M has used her balance bike a bit but hopefully she will learn how to do that a bit more and we can have some bike journeys with her.

Since M is constantly asking to go outdoors I doubt it will be hard to tick off things on this list.

What is on your bucket list this summer?
