Trespass girl's snow jacket review

Cosy, comfy and plenty of room to grow!

Most of this winter we have struggled to stay out long with M as she very quickly gets too cold. We have an amazing snow suit but that hampers her ability to really explore her surroundings at at times it is just too impractical, so when we got the chance to review a coat from Trespass we instantly agreed.

On the day we received this girls' ski jacket it was warm, we had no jumpers on let alone coats, so I was worried we might not get to properly test this out. Luckily we stay in Scotland and warm weather doesn't stay around for long and the next day it was freezing with flurries of snow. Normally when this happens we expect any walk we go on to end in tears with M all upset telling us "cold, cold, cold", so when we set out for a family day out with the dogs with no great expectations. On went her new Trespass coat and we very quickly realised we were on to a winner. This time she walked for ages, she never once said she was cold and she stayed happy.

The coat we chose to review was the Trespass Marnie girl's checked snow jacket in black.

First impressions:
  • Despite being an infant size (2-3years) this is basically a miniature version of an adult Trespass coat.
  • It really is warm. It has a fleece inner and you can actually feel the warmth in the coat when you take it off.
  • It is generous sized, perfect as it will last next winter too!
  • Lovely and bright without being garish - looks grown up too without being too "old" if you get what I mean.

The coat is waterproof to 2000mm and it certainly has kept M dry and warm when we have been out in the rain (although we have not been out in too many heavy showers yet to really test it).

It is windproof and I would say that this is something we did notice. Normally on a windy day we very quickly get a grumpy girl who is too cold but when we went out in ice cold winds we noticed that not only was she happy but her hands were roasting warm even without gloves on! It has coldheat insulation technology which traps and stores body heat and as I have stated before this really does work. I didn't know it had this until writing this review but it is one of the first things I noticed and I commented on how warm the coat felt to hubby after one of our walks with it.

One thing M has started to do on walks is forage for treasure and she very quickly realised that the pockets on this jacket are perfect for twigs and leaves and cones which she can easily access without help from mummy and daddy (or filling up mummy or daddy's pockets!). They close with velcro so it is perfect for little hands to work.

The coat comes with a detachable hood which is easily removed and put back on with poppers.

To keep any wind or snow chilling your little one the coat has velcro adjustable cuffs, drawcord hem and adjustable hood. The zip also comes up high in the neck with a cover to prevent nipping little chins.

With a RRP of £77.99 this coat is great value for money but when you consider that there is a whopping 56% off at the moment, making the coat just £33.99, you would be silly not to snap up a bargain!

We were offered a jacket for free in exchange for an honest review. All thought and opinions are mine and mine alone!
