Neverland Park - A place where we didn't feel grown up!

We felt like we had never grown up!

You know when you are lucky to love so close to something and you almost instantly wonder why you had never visited soon? Well Neverland Park in Kirriemuir is just that place.

"So come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned. Just think of happy things and your heart will fly on wings forever in never never land."
The park was opened around six years ago, inspired by the classic children's fairytale Peter Pan, which was written by Kirriemuir born author J. M. Barrie.

It has a huge pirate ship, in the middle, which has a statue of Captain Hook on it. Peter pan sits on the bars of the swing which is attached to the ship! On the grounds there is a spinning palm tree, a small island with chute and seats under, a crocodile and aerial slide (to name a few).

I have to say I fell in love the minute we arrived and was so excited when I saw that the park was empty as it meant we could test out things too!

At first sight I was worried that the park would not have much that M would go onto but she was very quickly scaling the ship and having a look at all the things to play with.

“Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.”
It is unlike any park that I had been to before and I really did feel like I had never grown up.

We have not watched Pater Pan with M before but it is definitely one that we will have to put on for her so next time she can really understand what the park is about.

The park had loads to do and time just seemed to fly by. We only had time to play for an hour and M would have loved to stay much longer than that. Next time I think we will take a picnic and spend a day there so she can play for as long as she wants.

    1. It is an amazing park and, yes, great to get away from swings and chutes! That said most of the time was spent on the chute lol

  3. What a great theme for a park and a real result to have it so quiet when you visited. We have a little pirate ship here the children adore but it doesn't compare to the size of this one and the theme is extra special. Watching the DVD will be a must now. Thank you for sharing a lovely place with me on #CountryKids

  6. What a wonderful place! I really like that the park is quite empty - it means - if my kids were there they can make as much noise as possible. lol! Love your photos especially the second one - the front with the pirate at the head - very nice! :) #MyWildOnes
