The BFG - Now a major motion picture but first came the book

Are you as excited as I am about the new The BFG film that has just been released? Or have you seen it and are now keen to read the book with your children? I really feel this is a book that should be on every child's bookshelf.

I remember reading this book so often when I was a child. We watched the film at school almost ever Christmas and now you can relive the magic with a new film and a book!

It makes the most perfect bedtime story book for young children or for young readers who want to read their own bedtime story.

The BFG is one of Roald Dahl's most loved characters. He is a giant and when he steals Sophie from her bed in the orphanage she is sure that she will be eaten.

Luckily for her the BFG is a friendly soul and only eats snozzcumbers and glugs frobscottle!
“Well, first of all," said the BFG, "human beans is not really believing in giants, is they? Human beans is not thinking we exist.” ― Roald DahlThe BFG
When Sophie hears how some giants search high and low for "human beans" she is determined that she must stop them.

So with Sophie carefully placed in his top pocket he whisks her away, into the land of child-eating giants, in an attempt to put an end to their cruelty. But will they succeed?

The film edition of the BFG is such a great addition to any bookshelf. Besides being an amazing story by one of the best children's authors ever(!) is is also full of wonderful illustrations. The book is illustrated well throughout to keep young readers engaged and young listeners too for that matter.

Not only is the story well illustrated there is an additional section for some phizz-whizzing fun. There is a quiz to test your knowledge of the story. A dream jar for you to  fill with a dream of your choosing - what would you choose? Or you can learn how to draw like Quentin Blake with a tutorial from him on how to draw the BFG!

Once you can master drawing the BFG what adventures can you create for him? So many ideas to create this summer! I don't think our attend was too bad, do you?

Dahl is a master at his art, of creating great adventures, sparking imaginations, and making such exciting stories.
