The Mummy Tag

I was recently tagged in the "Mummy Tag" by Laura over at Laura's Lovely Blog so here it is!

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?

I have been a SAHM since I had my daughter. I didn't have the choice, it would have cost more than my wage to go back to work. Hubby works shifts so there is no way we could work it around his shifts either.

2. Would you have it any other way?

No. I do miss work a bit, not so much the work aspect but the adult companionship and just having people to talk rubbish about and have adult conversations.

3. Do you co-sleep?

I have never co-slept with the kids. I love my space too much and hubby is lucky to even get a share of the king size bed! We did use the Next 2 Me crib for F and I loved that but he went into his room at around 4.5 months as he made too much noise and woke us or we woke him.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

The only thing I think I can say we could not do without is the car seat. We don't NEED a pram if we have a baby carrier. We don't NEED a baby carrier if we have a pram. We don't NEED a bouncer or Jumperoo but they are handy. We have cloth nappies so don't NEED throw away nappies but we still use them. The only thing that would mean we were stuck would be if we never had the car seat.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?

Three! I was one of three and I would love to have three. Fingers crossed that all goes to plan. Hubby jokes (I hope) that he wants four!!!!!!

6. Date nights? How often do you have them?

Never. Since having kids I can count on one hand how many times we have been kid free. I think we have had two evenings just us two. I miss it.

7. Your child’s favourite show?

They don't really watch that much TV. M will occasionally watch a cartoon for 10 minutes or so but much prefers playing. That said I never really put cartoons on so she doesn't get much chance to watch them. She loves films though, Toy Story, Frozen, but never watched a whole one.

8. Name one thing you brought before you had the baby and never ended up using

I think we used everything we bought. I honestly can't think of a single thing really.

9. Your child’s favourite food?

F loves eating everything but he is weaning so I guess it is still the novelty. We have yet to find something he won't eat. M is a great eater too and tends to eat the majority of things. I can't name anything she won't eat (maybe scrambled eggs) but her favourite would be fruit or pasta.

10. How many cars does your family have?

We have two. A Mini Countryman and a Citroen DS3. We used to have a Mini Cooper and I would love a five door Mini at some point.

11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?

I am fat (size 14-16). I gained weight during pregnancy but was back into size 14-16 within 2 week after both sections and I am finding size 14 is getting a bit baggier these days.

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

Greece. I love the Greek islands and visited a lot of them when I was little with my family and I would love my kids to fall in love with Greece as much as I love it. We have been once with M and are going this year with M and F. I would love to do an island hop trip when they are older.

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

Greece would be high on the list without without kids. We have been a a number of dream holidays as a couple and in reality I would just love to travel the world and see it all.

14. How has your life changed since having kids?

I no longer work so that has changed a lot. We don't go out for meals as much as we used to, if at all really, but otherwise not a huge amount. I always said when I was pregnant with my first that the baby would fit into out lives rather than us fitting into theirs and within reason that has happened.

15. Finish the sentence “It makes my heart melt when…”

... I watch my children playing together and watching the bond grow stronger and stronger. When M rushes to F's side when he is upset, when they giggle together when they play, when they hug and kiss.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

Generally we are a supermarket clothing family because of the cost factor. Generally I find a lot stuff for M but I find it hard to find affordable clothing that is not dull for F. I love a good Next sale.

17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?
I, rather embarrassingly, do not know how to use make-up and never use skincare products other than Dove moisturising cream.

18. Huggies or Pampers?

Well I guess since they don't really do Huggies here anymore if I had to choose one it would be Pampers for everyday and Huggies for swimming. I am however a cloth nappy user for the daytime and a supermarket brand at nights.

19. Have you always wanted kids?

Always. It was my life goal. I never knew what I wanted to do when I grew up (and still don't) other than being a mum.

20. Best part of being a mum?

Watching your children develop their personalities. Wondering who they will grow up to be. What they will look like. Seeing them giggle. Seeing the joy and complete innocence that have about life.

I tag you!!
