Hello baby, take 3...

The past few months have been a bit miserable in our household. Hubby broke his kneecap and has had no luck whatsoever with getting it mended.

When he was in hospital the first time I soon started to realise I was pregnant. I didn't test, because quite honestly although planned it was all a bit much, but I just knew.

When he came home I tested. No because I needed to know, I already knew, but just to get the wheels in motion.

We have been excited about it but to be honest being pregnant has been forgotten as we try to get hubby on the road to recover. Now, four surgeries later we are still at square one but we have at least now had our 12 week scan and seen that baby is looking well just now.

We are now 13 weeks and if I am honest I doubt hubby will be up and walking or driving in 27 weeks time which worries me as I have had two previous c-sections and I am now starting to panic a little as our hospital is 40 minutes drive away. Will he find somewhere he can stay close by so he can visit/be there for birth?

At the 12 week scan we were running late. We arrived a minute before the appointment and realised the car park was pay and display. We had no change so hubby told me to run in and book in for scan and he would hobble and get cash and pay.

I got there a minute late and was taken right through. The scan took about 5 minutes and I was out. Sadly hubby was nowhere near being able to get to the scanning room in time and missed out. We kind of wish we had just risked getting a parking ticket if I am honest. We have been too used to being able to park for free at the hospital hubby has been going to for surgery so were a bit annoyed that you have to pay to attend an appointment.

Never mind I was there and saw my beautiful baby.

Next time we will leave an hour earlier to let hubby have time to hobble along the corridors to get to the 20 week scan.

We now have a small light at the end of a very dark tunnel!

  1. Hey lovely, oh it sounds like your hubby is going through the wars. Don't yourself stressed. Just have a contingency plan for your birth if he is not on the mend. Lovely scan picture. Just remember he will be there for the most important part, seeing you little one grow up. Renee @peonieandme #bestandworst x

    1. Thanks. Going to have to see if we can move hospitals last minute if all doesn't go as planned.

  2. Ahhh look at that little scan picture, gorgeous. Congrats! Thanks for linking up to this weeks #bestandworst

  3. His is so exciting. I hope hubby is on the mend soon, it must be really difficult for you all at the moment xx

  4. Many Congratulations! Glad the baby is doing well. So sorry for your hubby bad knee. Hope he will be on the mend soon! My apology for the delay in the comment. Keep well. xx #BestandWorst

  5. Wonderful news - congratulations to you all! I really hope things pick up with the knee - that sounds like a hideously long recovery just, as you say when you need him to be at full strength to support you. You'll get there. Take care and congrats again :)
